| From Edenfire.com Newsroom Training For a recent Monday night training, Truck 24 traveled out in the first due for a review of ropes, knots and rigging skills.
The given scenario was the rescue of an injured victim using a stokes basket. Crews first rigged a lowering system, attached it to the stokes basket, then assisted it down the hill with 4 litter tenders on the sides.
Once down the hill, the patient had to be lashed into the basket, ensuring safety on the trip back up. After converting the ropes to a haul system, the entire crew and the litter with patient were brought back up to the start point. A big thank you to some residents of the first due for allowing us to train in their back yard. © Copyright 2002 by Edenfire.com |
