Eden Volunteers Remember 9/11

On Thursday morning, The Eden Volunteers took time to remember the events and the heros of 9/11. The annual memorial service was held at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center.

At the event several speakers gave insight and comfort into the events of 9/11/2001. In addition, the Lancaster County Firemans Assc. unveiled the statue for the upcoming memorial garden. The statue honors the fallen fire service members, EMS personnel and law enforcment officers that have died the line-of-duty in Lancaster County.



An individual reading and bell ring of each of the Counties LODD(line of duty deaths) since 1870 took place. This included Eden Firefighter J. Brian Harnly. Brian died tragically in the line of duty on May 19, 1989.

Truck 24 was utilized for the flag arch during the ceremony. Prior to leaving, the truck was used to take aerial photos of the impressive flag memorial that was erected.
