Wednesday Proves Steady

The Eden Fire Company responded to 8 calls for Service on Wednesday. Although sleep schedules were interrupted several times, all incidents were mitigated quickly. Below is a break-down:
01:50 Hours: Person Struck- Truck 24 and QRS 24 responded for a person struck by a vehicle in the 1300Block of Eden Rd. Units assisted the Medic Unit with Patient care and packaging. The patient was rushed to a nearby trauma center.
05:31 Hours: AFA/Commercial- Truck 24 responded to assist Sta 211(So. Manheim Twonship) for an AFA at a local business center. Units cleared within ten miuntes.
06:28 Hours: AFA/High Occupancy- Engine 24-1 responded to the 888 Pleasure Rd for a fire alarm. Alarm Malfunction, units in-service.
08:52 Hours: Unconcious Person- Engine 24-1(QRS) responded to the 2400Block of Oregon Pike for a person down on the Bike Path. The engine company assisted the medic unit prior to clearing.
10:24 Hours: Unconcious Person- QRS 24 responded to Roseville House Apartments and assisted the medic unit.
12:37 Hours: Vehicle/Tractor Trailer- Engine 24-1 responded for a reported tractor trailer fire on Route 30E @ Rt 222. 24-1 arrived and extinguished a small fire between the trailer bed and the load. *See additional article*

14:57 Hours: Gas Leak- Truck 24 responded to the Lancaster Bike Shop for a reported Gas Leak. The truck crew assisted Station 211 with monitoring and was in-service within ten minutes.

22:45 Hours: Building/Apartment- Engine 24-1 responded to Roseville House Apartments for an investigation of an odor of smoke outside. While enroute communications upgraded the assignment to an apartment building. First arriving units found one unit with heavy smoke and heat conditions in the apartment. Crews had to perform extensive overhaul to ensure extinguishment. Units operated onscene for about two hours prior to clearing. *See additional article*
