Earlier in the morning, Hurlock members were given operational and maintenance overviews by Eden’s Captain Dave Howey and Firefighter Troy Neville. After lunch, the crew from Hurlock made the 150 mile drive to take their ‘new’ ladder tower to its new home and to the anxiously waiting Hurlock firefighters.

The Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company is located on Maryland's Eastern Shore in Dorchester County. Hurlock purchased Eden’s ladder tower to replace their 1974 85’ LTI ladder tower.
During its 11 ½ years of service, the ladder tower served Eden's firefighters and community well. Truck 24responded to many major fires in the area, including Sight and Sound and Meadowbrook Farmer's Market.

Sunday also marked the date Eden’s new 2006 Pierce Tractor-Drawn Aerial officially began serving the community. This new unit replaces the 1994 ladder tower as well as the 1990 E-One Rescue unit that left for Lyons, NY on March 31.
The new Truck 24 carries more equipment than the 1990 rescue and 1994 ladder tower combined and exceeds the Lancaster County Fire Chief’s Association’s minimum requirements for both truck and rescue classifications.
