VOLUNTEERS Handle Five Calls for the Day

Crews had a steady afternoon today handling five calls for service. Calls included two vehicle accidents, an automatic fire alarm, a pedestrian struck and one medical assist.

Just before 2pm, Truck 24 was dispatched to assist Station 27(Neffsville) on a Class 2 vehicle accident on Oregon Pike. The VOLUNTEER Truck Company was the first emergency services to arrive at the incident on Oregon Pike & Bushong Rd.


Truck 24, with 5 crew members, reported a two vehicle accident with one priority patient on the ground and another trapped in the vehicle and added an additional ALS unit. The crew split tasks between the extrication and patient care prior to the arrival of EMS services. Chief 20(Kane)arrived and established command 27.


Engine 27-1 and Squad 27 arrived and assisted with stabilization and performed hazard control. FFs Breen and Mowry removed the passenger door to extricate the 2nd patient from the vehicle. Crew members then assisted with patient removal and packaging.

Truck 24 cleared within 30 minutes. Traffic 27 and 313 handled the closure of Route 272.
