This afternoon, Truck 24 took part in the 20th Annual Make-a-Wish Mothers Day Convoy. The Ladder was one of nearly 400 trucks to take part in the convoy from Lancaster to Ephrata and back.

The event serves as a large fundraiser for the Greater Philadelphia/Susquehanna Make-a-Wish Organization. The organization is a non-profit group who grants wishes to children with illness or disabilities. Event organizers estimated funds gained from the event would be over a quarter of a million dollars.

During the event, several "Wish Children" are given the opportunity to ride on the trucks during the convoy. Truck 24 did not have a wish child aboard. Sgt. Tommy Bender registered our unit in memory of his infant nephew, Jared Ryan Sigle, who died from SIDS in 2007. A banner was placed on the front of the Truck in his memory.
