Late this evening, Engine 24-1 responded to the Roseville House Apartments for the investigation of an outside odor of smoke. While enroute, County Communications upgraded the assignment to an apartment building.

Side Alpha

Engine 24-1 was only blocks out and arrived onscene with a 2-story garden apartment with nothing evident. The engine had its own hydrant on Roseville Rd and the first due truck and second due engine were ordered to the alpha/bravo corner.

Side Charlie

Engine 24-1 encountered smoke from the eaves on the alpha side and immediately evacuated the building. The engine chauffuer stretched the 400' apartment line while the crew forced entry into the fire apartment.

Heavy smoke and heat conditions were met inside the apartment. The crew advanced the line, performed a primary search and quickly knocked the fire. Truck 67(Rohrerstown) along with engine 211-3(S. Manheim Twp) and engine 27-1(Neffsville) arrived and assisted the crews on the interior with opening up as well as checking the exposures.
