Two Cans and a Fan

On Friday June 20th, Truck 24 responded as part of the 1st alarm assignment for a reported house fire in the 100Blk of Murray Hill Dr. LCWC reported a kitchen fire with the residence evacuating. Medic 2-13 arrived with smoke showing. Truck 24 was the first arriving apparatus.



Truck 24's interior team made entry in the front door with a heavy smoke condition in the residence. The outside vent man made entry through the side charlie basement and found a small fire above the kitchen stove top extending into the cabinets.



Crews quickly knocked the fire an mopped up with two PW cans as well as checked for extension. In addition the crew performed the primary and secondary searches and controlled utilities. The driver and tillerman placed fans for ventilation as well as quartz lights at the egress.



Engine companies from 211(S. Manheim Twp), 27(Neffsville) and 24(Eden) arrived on scene. Engine 27-1 strecthed a line while Truck 24 was checking for extension. With no extension past the cabinets and the smoke ventilated, units quickly cleared. Truck 24 operated for about 30 minutes.
