Rainy Weather Brings Back-to-Back Extrications

At 0840 Hours Station 63(Lafayette) and EMS were dispatched to Greenfield Rd and Route 340 for a vehicle accident with entrapment. LCWC reported one car vs a box truck with one trapped. Cheif 63 arrived and confirmed a drivers side collision with the driver heavily entrapped. Command requested the second due rescue bringing Truck 24 to the scene.

Upon arrival the truck crew assisted 63 units already in operation. Truck 24 removed the passenger side and roof while Lafayette units worked the drivers side. The patient was extricated within 15 minutes.

Moments after the extrication was complete LCWC dispatched a vehicle accident with reported entrapment at Route 30 West and Route 222 in Edens district. Engine 24-1 along with Rescue 23 and 211 were dispatched. Truck 24 was released to respond to the 2nd call.

Squad 24-1 and Chief 20 arrived with a two vehicle rear-end collision with one driver confined. Squad 24-1 popped the drivers door to effect the extrications. Truck 24 arrived and assisted EMS with patient packaging and removal. Units operated for 15 minutes.
