Just after 0330 Hours on May 9th, Truck 24 was alerted to assist Station 3-11 on a reported apartment building fire. LCWC dispatched the assignment to the area of Granger Rd and Country Dr. in the Chelsea Village Apartment Complex.

Chief 3-11 arrived onscene of Building 12 with smoke and fire showing from the entrance way vestibule of Building 12. Truck 24 was first arriving and began operations. Several ground ladders were thrown to assist occupants from their second floor balconies. In addition the truck crew gained entry and performed a primary and secondary of the fire floor and floor above, as well as ventilation. During the primary search two sleeping occupants were removed from the second floor. A few of the residents were evaluated onscene for smoke inhalation.

Engine Companies from 3-11 and 3-1(Bareville) arrived and initiated the fire attack. During intial operations crews discovered a second fire in the entrance way to building 10 next door. Additional units handled the second fire and all occupants were unharmed.

The truck crew was onscene for 90 minutes prior to being released. News reports state that a state police fire marshal ruled the fires as arson and an investigation is currently under way.
