On the afternoon of April 28th Station 211(So. Manheim Twp), Engine 23-1(East Petersburg) and EMS responded to the 400 Block of Granite Run Drive for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Truck 24 was added to the assignment as the second rescue.

Medic 2-13 arrived and confirmed one vehicle into a pole with the driver trapped. Engine 23-1 was first arriving and began stabilization efforts. Truck 24 and Rescue 211 arrived together and performed the extrication.

The vehicle had struck the pole on the drivers door, trapping the single occupant. Crews utilized several rescue tools to remove the rear door and roof. The drivers legs were also pinned under the dash. A spreader, ram and pedal cutter were utilized to roll the dash from the occupant. Crews completed the extrication and assisted EMS with packaging. The overall extrication time was just over 20 minutes.
