Just after 0330 Hours Sunday morning, Station 24 along with Rescue 2-11(E) and EMS were alerted to the 1400 Block of New Holland Pk for a vehicle accident with possible entrapment. Truck 24 arrived within three minutes of dispatch to find one pick-up truck into a tree and on its side.

The truck had left the roadway just missing a telephone/power pole by a few feet. The truck then hit head on into a large diameter tree, literally pulling it out of the ground. The force of the impact caused the truck to rollover into another tree before finally resting on its side. The tremendous force accounted for approximately 24 inches of intrusion to the front of the vehicle. In addition the roof had buckled to the top of the drivers seat.

After a quick search of the vehicle and surrounding area, it was determined that there was no entrapment and that the occupant had left the scene.

Upon returning from the call the call, QRS 24 and the original medic unit were sent to an area residence to treat and transport the occupant of the vehicle.
