Brother Lost in the Line of Duty

On the morning of January 6th, the Scranton City Fire Department responded to a residential fire. Captain Jim Robeson and Firefighter Jennifer Hawker of the Scranton City Fire Department came into contact with power lines while operating in the bucket of an aerial. Captain Robeson succumbed to his injuries. Firefighter Hawker and two other firefighters, who were in contact with the tower, were injured. However none were life threatening.

Capt. Robeson, a 25 year veteran of Scranton City Fire Department, leaves behind his wife and teenage son. The Eden Fire Company would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Robeson family and the Scranton City Fire Department during this tragic time.

The viewing for Brother Robeson will be Tuesday January 8, 2008 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Wednesday January 9, 2008 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home, 1240 St. Ann's Street, Scranton, PA 18504 (570)346-3498. The funeral will be Thursday January 10, 2008 at 10:00 am starting from Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10:30 at St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson Street, Scranton PA 18504. Friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church
