The Sharon Hill Fire Company deeply regrets to announce
the Line of Duty Death of Firefighter Mike Reagan on Saturday, September 29, 2007. Reagan died from his injuries while operating at a garage fire on Wednesday night, he was a volunteer with the fire company for three years.

Firefighters Mike Reagan, 19, Chris Miller, 21 and Joe Tesauro, 23 were all injured Wednesday, September 26, 2006, when the front of a burning garage collapsed.
The other two firefighter, Joe Tesauro suffered leg and back burns. Chris Miller had non-life-threatening injuries with second degree burns to his left hip, left shoulder, arm, and back. Both have been released from the hospital.
The Sharon Hill Fire Company(09), along with Folcroft(O1) and Glenolden(05), were dispatched just after 11 PM on September 26, 2007, for a detached garage on fire. Police were first to arrive on location at the 900 block of Coates St. and reported a working garage fire. A Sharon Hill fire officer arrived and confirmed the police report. He then ordered the first Engine (09-1) to lay a supply line and go in service with a 1-3/4 line from the exterior.
Shortly after starting their fire attack on the garage, the front facade fell forward and landed on three firefighters trapping them under a large steel beam and other debris. According to Sharon Hill Fire Chief Bill Benecke, the firefighters were about 8 feet out in front of the structure when the collapse occured.
Incident command immediately requested all available firefighters to assist in the rescue operation. He also requested a Rapid Intervention Team from Lansdowne(19) and multiple ALS and BLS units. Crews worked feverishly to remove the firefighter as well as extinguishing the remainder of fire in the garage. To get additional manpower command requested for the second alarm to be dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters were removed from under the debris in approximately 5 minutes. EMS command requested a medical helicopter to the scene for a 19 year old firefighter that was struck by a falling beam. After confirming that the firefighter was in cardiac arrest, he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance. It's reported that he was revived by EMS en route to the hospital and transferred to Crozer Hospital with burns. A second firefighter whom suffered a serious leg injury and burns was also transported to Crozer Hospital. The third firefighter was also transported to the hospital but his injuries were unspecified.
Two other firefighters and two police officers were reported injured during the rescue efforts.
The 19 year old firefighter was listed in very critical condition as of Thursday morning.
It is reported that the cause of this fire was from a man working on a motorcycle in a garage by candlelight. The incident remains under investigation.
