Truck Company Requested to Assist Company 4-10

On 2/12/2010, Truck 2-4 was requested to assist Station 4-10(Witmer) on a chimney fire in East Lampeter. Truck 2-4 responded with seven personnel. Upon the arrival of the Truck, access was made to the roof and chimney with the main aerial ladder.

Crews utilized different resources to extinguish the fire. Chain was attached to rope to break up the creosote that was built up in the chimney flue. Also, chimney bombs were used. They are made of a chemical compound to reduce damage in the chimney structure.

The crew remained on the scene for just under a half hour working.
